Columbus Reassigns Defenseman Kyle Wharton to Crunch

Syracuse, NY (November 29, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Kyle Wharton to the Crunch from Johnstown (ECHL).

Wharton, 22, was reassigned by Columbus to Johnstown on October 27 and has skated in 13 games with the Chiefs, tallying one goal, six assists and 14 penalty minutes.

A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Wharton was drafted by Columbus in the second round, 59th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game is Saturday, November 29 as they travel to Albany to face off against the River Rats at 5 p.m. The Crunch returns home on Friday, December 12 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
