
ValleyCats and E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy Law Firm Announce Community Heroes

TROY - The E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy Law Firm and the Tri-City ValleyCats are pleased to announce the selection of nine Community Heroes
who will be recognized at the ValleyCats' August 12th game against the Auburn Doubledays.
In the third year of the Home Run Community Heroes program, the ValleyCats and the E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy Law firm are honoring heroes from all walks of life who have made a difference in their communities.
"We consider giving back to our community to be a goal on par with providing the highest caliber of service to our clients," said E. Stewart Jones, Jr. "We are proud to help continue this program and honor these important Community Heroes at another fun-filled ValleyCats game."
"This is a great opportunity to recognize some of the individuals that make the Capital Region such a great place to live," said Matt Callahan, general manager of the Tri-City ValleyCats. "We are excited to continue this partnership with the E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy Law Firm, another active member of our community."
The following is a list of the winners:
- Domingo Montes - Program Director, 15-LOVE
Nominated for his work with 15-LOVE, which provides free tennis, life skills and educational programming to inner-city youth and their families
- Jason Krolak - Owner, New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Albany/Syracuse/Buffalo
Nominated for his charitable work, which includes donating iPads and IT equipment to area schools and community groups and raising money for  local families battling cancer
- Marleah Lybolt - Columbia High School student
Nominated for her volunteer work with STRIDE Adaptive Sports, which educates and empowers people with special needs through life-changing sport and recreation programs
- Peter Gannon - President, Arsenal Business & Technology Partnership
Nominated for his volunteer work with Best Buddies, which focuses on creating opportunities for friendships, employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ishmael Morton, Program Director at Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany
Nominated for his work with children and families at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany
- Leah Slocum - Partner, PEAK Residential Partners Team at RealtyUSA
Nominated for her volunteer work, including being named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2014 Woman of the Year
- Tess Collins - Owner, McGeary's Irish Pub
Nominated for her work fundraising for numerous local organizations, including St. Catherine's Center for Children, Equinox and the Albany Fire Department
- Sean Tuckey - Case Manager and Readjustment Counselor, Albany Stratton VA Medical Center
Nominated for his work serving as a Case Manager and Readjustment Counselor for returning combat veterans
- Stefon Stilwell - Marketing Director, Mike McGilligan State Farm Insurance
Nominated for his volunteer work with STRIDE Adaptive Sports, which helped him as a child growing up with spina bifida
The winners will be recognized on the field as part of a special ceremony prior to the ValleyCats' game on Wednesday, August 12th. Each member of the "Starting Nine" also received four tickets to enjoy the game, food and drinks as guests of the E. Stewart Jones Hacker Murphy Law Firm in the Diamond Club on the suite level at "The Joe."
