
Cutters Walk Off against West Virginia in Extra Innings

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game 2-2 and would walk off against the West Virginia Black Bears on Monday night at Susquehanna Bank Park 3-2 in 11 innings. The Cutters got a solo home run from Jan Hernandez to right field as he has eight on the season. Williamsport remains in first place in the Pinckney Division with a six game lead over the Black Bears.
The Crosscutters offense would get onto the scoreboard first in the bottom of the third inning after Austin Bossart kicked off the inning with a single. The hit extended Bossart's hitting streak to 15 games and his on base streak to 19 games. Bossart would score from third base on an RBI single from Josh Tobias. For the second consecutive night Tobias would produce the Cutters first run. Williamsport looked to put more offense on the scoreboard but would strand a pair of runners on base.
Williamsport received another great outing from their starting pitching as Franklyn Kilome worked five innings of scoreless baseball allowing one hit while striking out three batters. West Virginia would play pest in the sixth inning for the second consecutive night as they tied the game 1-1. Anthony Sequeira worked 2.1 innings as he saw the Black Bears take a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth inning on a wild pitch.
The Cutters would have a rally staged in the ninth inning as Jesus Posso lead off the inning with a single. Carlos Duran would enter as a pinch runner for Posso. After advancing to third base on a wild pitch, Duran would score as Zach Coppola reached on an error by the Black Bears second baseman. Leading off the 11th inning and facing Julio Eusebio; Hernandez hit a 1-1 pitch off of the scoreboard in right field to complete the comeback win 3-2.
