Ullstrom Loaned to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (April 3, 2013) - The New York Islanders announced today that forward David Ullstrom has been activated off of injured reserve and loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Ullstrom, 23, returns to the Sound Tigers after appearing in one game with the Islanders during his most recent recall before suffering an injury on Mar. 14 in Tampa Bay. The Jonkoping, SWE native has recorded two goals and three assists in 20 games with the Islanders this season.

The 6'2, 195-pound forward played in one game with the Sound Tigers during his most recent stint in Bridgeport, netting the game-winning goal in a 3-2 overtime win against Springfield on Mar. 12. Originally the Islanders' fourth round pick (102nd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Ullstrom has skated in 27 games with the Sound Tigers this season, amassing 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) and a plus-12 rating.
