Boston Acquires Rob Flick from Chicago

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 21st season in the American Hockey League, announced today that the Boston Bruins have acquired forward Rob Flick from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Max Sauvé.

Flick, 22, has recorded five points (3G, 2A) and 97 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Rockford IceHogs this season. The 6'2", 208-pound centerman appeared in 45 games with the IceHogs in 2011-12, posting 13 points (7G, 6A) during his first AHL campaign. The London, Ontario, native was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and played three seasons with Mississauga St. Michael's of the Ontario Hockey League from 2008 to 2011.

Sauvé, 23, tallied 23 points (10G, 13A) and 24 penalty minutes in 52 games this season with Providence Bruins. He has posted a season-high two points on six occasions, including a season-best two goals on Feb. 1 vs. Albany.

The 6-0, 185-pound center has posted 89 points (44G, 45A) in 158 AHL games with Providence. He has appeared in one career game with the Bruins, making his NHL debut on March 11, 2012 at Pittsburgh. Prior to his professional career Sauvé appeared in 121 games with Val d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, tallying 144 points (54G, 90A).

The Tours, France, native was originally selected by the Bruins in the second round, 47th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bruins return to The Dunk on Friday, April 12 versus the Hershey Bears. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. for Kids T-Shirt Night. The first 1,000 kids 12&under will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Graphic Ink.
