Dmirtri Jaskin Signs with Blues; Assigned to Peoria

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Wednesday the club has signed forward Dmitrij Jaskin to a three-year entry level contract.

Jaskin has been assigned to the Peoria Rivermen.

"Jaskin is an NHL-ready combination of size and skill," said Blues' Director of Player Development Tim Taylor. "His offensive prowess, physicality and hockey sense give him the versatility to play up and down the lineup and contribute in a variety of roles."

Jaskin, 20, dressed in 51 games for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's (QMJHL) Moncton Wildcats, leading the club and ranking fifth league-wide with 99 points (46 goals and 53 assists) to go along with 73 penalty minutes.

In addition, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward was named the QMJHL's first star of the month for November 2012 and January 2013. He also earned first star of the week honors for consecutive weeks in January.

Prior to 2012-13, Jaskin spent the previous two seasons with Slavia Praha HC of the Czech-league, posting 12 points (four goals, eight assists) and 32 penalty minutes in 63 career games.

The Omsk, Russia native was drafted by the Blues in the second round, 41st overall, of the 2011 Entry Draft.
