Wild Recalls Kuemper, Adds Goalie Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers

Houston, TX - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Wednesday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Darcy Kuemper from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). Fletcher also announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired goaltender Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers (pronounced duh-LAW-ree-yay) from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations. He has been assigned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Deslauriers, 28 (5/15/84), went 6-8-1 with a 3.25 GAA and a .902 SV% in 15 games with the Fort Wayne Komets in the ECHL this season. He also appeared in two games for the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL) going 1-1-0 with a 3.51 GAA and a .889 SV%. The 6-foot-4, 203-pound native of St. Jean-Richelieu, Que., has appeared in 62 career NHL games in parts of three seasons with Edmonton and Anaheim going 23-32-4 with a 3.24 GAA, a .901 SV% and three shutouts. Deslauriers went 3-1-0 in four starts with Anaheim last season posting a 2.74 GAA and a .903 SV%. He was originally selected by Edmonton in the second round (No. 31 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Kuemper, 22 (5/5/90), is 1-2-0 with a 2.22 GAA and a .924 SV% in four games (three starts) with the Wild this season. He made his NHL debut Feb. 12 at Vancouver and won his first NHL game Feb. 17 against Detroit. In 21 contests with Houston this season, Kuemper is 13-8-0 with a 1.88 GAA, a .934 SV% and four shutouts. The 6-foot-5, 207-pound native of Saskatoon, Sask., was the Wild's sixth-round selection (No. 161 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Houston continues a ten-game home stand at Toyota Center on Thursday with San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. The game marks a "Thirsty Thursday", where fans (21 and older) receive a "second drink free coupon" for The Maple Leaf Pub (Smith and Elgin). The first 500 fans to The Maple Leaf Pub after the game will be able to redeem their coupon for their second drink free. Friday night, the Aeros welcome the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The game is presented by Houston Eye Associates. The first 3,500 patrons will be given an Aeros magnetic picture frame, compliments of Houston Eye Associates.
