Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA- The common baseball term Dog Days of Summer certainly applies to Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. Altoona Curve game at Blair County Ballpark. Several dog-related promotions will take place as part of Hank's Bark in the Park Night as the Curve host the Akron Aeros (Indians). Ballpark gates open to the general public at 6.
Highlighting the evening's activities will be the unique opportunity for fans to bring their dogs to the ballpark. Dogs will be allowed to roam the concourse areas of the ballpark as long as they are on a leash and accompanied by their owners. Fans wishing to sit down and watch the game with their canine friend can purchase tickets for the designated dog section, located in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction (Outfield Bleacher) seating area, or simply purchase a General Admission ticket and sit on the Reliance Bank in left field.
As a courtesy to other fans, dogs will not be permitted in any reserved seating area of Blair County Ballpark, with the exception of the designated section in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction.
The first 500 four-legged friends to enter the gates will be greeted with their very own treat in the form of a Curve Tenth Anniversary Logo Doggie Dish. After entering the gates, fans will be able to enjoy many other dog-related promotions, including a pre-game Pet Parade on the field. Some of the canine world's most important citizens will be on display during a pre-game search and rescue dog demonstration.
The high-flying, high-energy act, Skyy Dogs USA & Rockin' Ray, will be on hand to entertain fans throughout the game. Rockin' Ray and his frisbee-catching dogs have become one of the most popular traveling entertainment acts in professional sports and have been thrilling Curve fans on visits to Blair County Ballpark for the past several years.
Also, dog owners and non-dog owners alike can feast on $1 hot dogs all game long compliments of Atlantic Broadband. Of course, the Curve's resident canines, Bob the Baseball Dog and Diesel Dawg, will serve as the host of Blair County Ballpark's dog party.
Great seats remain for Tuesday's game and the other 11 remaining 2008 Curve home games and can be purchased by calling (877) 99-CURVE, by visiting the BCB Ticket Office, or by logging on to AltoonaCurve.com and clicking one of the "BUY TICKETS" links on the home page.
