
Trio Of Mavericks Earn All-Star Honors

ADELANTO, Calif. (June 7, 2013) - Outfielder Jabari Blash and infielders Ji-Man Choi and Chris Taylor were named California League Mid-Season All-Stars for the 2013 California/Carolina League All-Star Game in San Jose, Cal., on Friday.
Blash, 23, leads the California League with a .649 slugging percentage, while his 13 home runs are tied for third. The 6-foot-5 Canada native, is hitting .284 with 39 RBI and nine stolen bases in 42 games with the Mav's. Blash was selected to the 2011 Northwest League All-Star squad after boasting a .292 average with 11 home runs and 43 RBI in 57 games with short-season Class-A Everett.
Taylor, 22, leads the Mavericks in games played (57), runs scored (54), hits (76), triples (5), total bases (120) and bases on balls (40). He is the active team leader with a .333 batting average, which is also third in the league. The former University of Virginia Cavalier has posted single-season career-highs this year with six home runs and 38 RBI. This is Taylor's first All-Star selection.
Choi, 22, will not be eligible for the mid-season classic after his promotion to Double-A Jackson on June 3. The left-handed hitting, right-handed fielding Choi is second in the California League with a .337 batting average and leads the league with 24 doubles. He also has seven home runs and 40 RBI in 48 games with the Mav's this season. This his second All-Star selection after earning Arizona League All-Star honors in addition to the league's Most Valuable Player award with the rookie-level AZL Mariners in 2010.
