Ports' Drew Granier and Max Muncy selected as Mid-Season All-Stars

STOCKTON, Calif. - Stockton Ports pitcher Drew Granier and infielder Max Muncy have been named to the 2013 California League Mid-Season All-Star team as the All-Star Roster was released by the league today. The mid-summer classic will be held at Municipal Stadium in San Jose, California on June 18th.

Max Muncy has earned his spot on the All-Star team's starting roster. As of June 5th, Max has a team high .281 batting average, 65 hits and 42 walks. Muncy currently ranks second in the California League with 13 home runs and 48 RBI. Muncy was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the fifth round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Baylor University.

Starting pitcher Drew Granier has been the ace of the Ports pitching staff all season. He currently leads the California League in strikeouts with 83, and ranks second in the league with a 2.50ERA and 72 innings pitched. Granier was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 32nd round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Entering the season he was ranked as the A's No. 18 prospect by MLB.com entering the 2013 season.
