Quakes' Cuevas Added to All-Star Team
June 7, 2013 - California League (CalL1)
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are proud to announce that Noel Cuevas has been added to the roster of the 2013 California League All-Star Team.
Cuevas, who was added to the team just this morning, is having a break-out year. The Puerto Rico native is batting .311 (eighth in the league) with five home runs, 34 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Cuevas is also tied for the league lead with seven triples.
Currently on the disabled list with a right foot injury, Mount will not actually play in the game, in order to give his foot more time to recover before the start of the second half. The Chino native is leading the circuit with a .342 batting average, with seven homers and 37 RBIs, in this, his first year as a Los Angeles Dodgers' farmhand.
With league-wide injuries and promotions playing a factor leading up to the game, it's a possibility that the Quakes could have additional players added to the team in the upcoming weeks, as they have several other players who are currently enjoying stand-out seasons. Stay tuned to rcquakes.com for the latest all-star additions.
The 2013 California-Carolina League All-Star Game will be played in San Jose, CA at Municipal Stadium, the home of the San Jose Giants. It will mark the first time that the team has hosted this event. Baseball's top prospects, representing 18 Major League teams and 18 Minor League affiliates, will descend upon Municipal Stadium on June 18 as two of the nation's elite Class-A Advanced leagues matchup in the 17th California-Carolina League All-Star Game. After last year's 9-1 victory by the Carolina League in Winston-Salem, N.C., the two Class-A Advanced circuits are deadlocked in the game's history with identical 7-7-2 records.
