Indianapolis Indians News Release

BUFFALO, NY -- Chris Volstad pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball, Steve Lombardozzi both scored and drove in a run and the Indianapolis Indians swept the Buffalo Bisons with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.

The Tribe (28-19) completed its six-game road trip at 5-1 and returns to Victory Field with the best record in the International League.

Volstad (3-1) gave up four hits and three walks but induced two double-play grounders to prevent most of the damage. He also struck out four in the win to improve to 2-0 with a 2.01 ERA (5 ER/22.1 IP) over his last five outings (three starts).

Lombardozzi singled home the go-ahead run in Alen Hanson, who reached base three times with two hits and a walk. The effort ties the top prospect Hanson for the league lead of 34 hits this month.

Brent Morel plated the Indians' first run with an RBI double that scored Lombardozzi from second base in the top of the third inning.
