Travs Complete Four-Game Sweep of NWA

North Little Rock, AR - The Arkansas Travelers completed a four-game sweep of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals with a 6-1 win on Tuesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park.

The Naturals scored a run in the first but Arkansas countered with three in the third and two in the fifth.

RHP Tyler Carpenter (W, 2-3) worked a season-high six innings and allowed the run on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

RHP Austin Adams, RHP Josh Roenicke, who made his Travs debut, and LHP Edward Paredes each pitched an inning of scoreless relief and combined to strike out seven with one hit allowed.

2B Alex Yarbrough finished 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

The Travs plated all three runs in the fifth with two outs and finished 5-for-13 with runners in scoring position.

All nine Arkansas starters produced at least one hit, with DH Jabari Henry and 3B Angel Rosa both contributing two.

Naturals starter RHP Jake Junis (L, 6-4) allowed six runs on 10 hits over 4.2 innings. Junis had not allowed more than two runs in any start since April.

With the win, Arkansas improved to 28-36 on the season and is now tied with Northwest Arkansas for third place in the Texas League North division. The Travs will begin a four-game series at Dickey-Stephens Park vs. Tulsa on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
