FRISCO, TEXAS - Preston Beck hit a walk-off, two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, propelling the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, to a 5-4 win over the Midland RockHounds in front of 9,330 fans Tuesday afternoon at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

Beck's homer gave Frisco its third walk-off win this season and its first walk-off homer since Joey Gallo did it June 9, 2014, also against the RockHounds.

Beck's homer not only gave the Riders the win, but got them out of a one-run deficit. Entering the ninth in a 3-3 tie, A's top prospect Franklin Barreto broke the tie with solo home run to left field that put Midland up 4-3.

Before the two home runs in the ninth, Frisco's Ryan Cordell, who along with Beck and five others was named a Texas League mid-season all-star Tuesday , ended an extensive homerless drought with a pair of long balls early in the game. Cordell hit solo home runs in both the third and fifth innings off Midland starter Joel Seddon, homering for the first time since May 16 at Midland, a homerless span of 90 at-bats. Cordell recorded his second two-home run game of the season, with the other coming against the RockHounds on May 9.

The RoughRiders took an early 1-0 lead on a RBI single from all-star Ronald Guzman in the first inning, but Midland scored a run in the each of the third, fourth, and fifth innings to take a 3-2 lead before Cordell's second homer re-tied the game.

Right-handed pitcher A.J. Griffin made his second rehab start with the RoughRiders and worked into the fourth inning, finishing with two runs allowed on five hits, while walking two and striking out three in three-plus innings, taking no-decision. The RoughRiders got another quality day from the bullpen, with Jose Valdespina, Joe Filomeno, and John Fasola combining to allow just two runs on two hits over the final six innings.

With the Midland series complete, the RoughRiders welcome the first-place Corpus Christi Hooks to Dr Pepper Ballpark for a five-game series starting Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. The RoughRiders currently sit four games back of the Hooks in the South Division standings, with seven games to go in the first half.

Fans can watch the action live on MiLB.TV (subscription required) or listen for free on the Frisco RoughRiders Radio Network , the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App.

Wednesday is the latest Weiner Wednesday, presented by Texas Chili Company. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs throughout the game. The Choctaw Lazy River, which made its debut at a RoughRiders game Saturday, will host its first Thursday Night Pool Party later in the homestand during Thursday's doubleheader against the Hooks.
