
Toronto Earns 5-2 Victory over Utica

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, by a score of 5-2 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.
Utica opened the scoring at 1:35 of the first period on Alexandre Grenier's 10th goal of the season. The Marlies would tie the game at 13:15 when Korbinian Holzer scored with his team on a man advantage. Marlies rookie Josh Leivo and second year forward Spencer Abbott tallied second period goals to give Toronto a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame. Josh Leivo and Kellan Lain traded third period tallies, before Leivo completed his first pro hat trick with an empty net marker at 19:41.
The Marlies return to the ice on Friday, January 10 when they travel to Newfoundland for a 7:30 p.m. (NST) game against the St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.
