Kings Acquire Seventh Round Selection in 2014 NHL Draft

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have acquired a seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Draft from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Daniel Carcillo, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Carcillo, 28, has played in 26 games with the Kings this season, recording two points (1-12) and 57 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 200-pound native of King City, Ontario was acquired by the Kings in a trade with Chicago on July 16, 2013. In 359 career games with the Kings, Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and Phoenix Coyotes, Carcillo has 89 points (41-4849) and 1,136 penalty minutes.

The Kings begin a five-game homestand at STAPLES Center tonight versus Vancouver with game-time set for 10:00 p.m. EST.

The Monarchs continue their road trip with a 7:05 p.m. contest against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza on Saturday, January 4.
