'Topes to play visit to VA hospital

Albuquerque Isotopes manager Dean Treanor and eight 'Topes players will pay a visit to sick and disabled veterans at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, June 14 at the Albuquerque Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, located at 1501 San Pedro Dr SE, as part of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Celebrity Entertainment Program.

During their visit, Isotopes players will be going from room to room signing autographs and brightening the day for sick and disabled veterans. Isotopes players scheduled to take part include infielders Drew Niles and Jason Wood; pitchers Nic Ungs, Jeff Fulchino, Ross Wolf and Matt Blank; and outfielders Mark Little and Mike Colangelo.

The visit will be the team's third under the DAV Celebrity Entertainment Program, in which area athletes are able to interact with and honor the men and women who have sacrificed greatly in defense of liberty.

The 'Topes have also joined the DAV in hosting DAV Night at the Ballpark, scheduled for Saturday, July 29 when the Isotopes tangle with the Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 PM. This is a special DAV day at Isotopes Park attended by hundreds of Disabled American Veterans and their families.

The million-member Disabled American Veterans, a non-profit organization founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932, represents this nations's disabled veterans and their families. For more information, please visit the organization's website, www.dav.org.
