Walleye Notes
- Rough Week Finishes! Toledo finished last week with an 0-3-0 record. The Walleye mustered only 22 shots on goal in a 4-1 loss at Wheeling on Wednesday. Travis Novak had a goal and an assist on Friday night but the Walleye lost 5-2 at Kalamazoo. Saturday, Toledo watched Cincinnati score three goals in the third period in another 5-2 loss.
- Packing the House! A standing room only crowd of 8,200 filled the Huntington Center on Saturday night. It was the sixth sellout of the season for the Walleye. Toledo is third in the ECHL in average attendance with 6,129.
- Power Play Powerful! The Walleye power play has at least one goal in four of the last five games. Toledo is 5-17 (29.4%) over that span. The Walleye own the ECHL's second best power play unit overall sitting at 19.3% with 35 goals in 181 times on the man advantage.
- Busy Week Begins! Toledo has four games this week starting Monday afternoon in Greenville. Toledo defeated the Road Warriors in their lone meeting this season on January 26 (4-2). Tuesday night the Walleye ride into South Carolina to take on the Stingrays. Toledo is 0-2-0 this year against the Stingrays being outscored 11-0 in the two games played back in November. The Walleye are back home for games on Friday and Saturday night against the Orlando Solar Bears. Toledo dropped the first two meetings of the year against Orlando with both coming in Florida back in early November.
- Promotions! This weekend is Hockey Heritage Weekend presented by the Toledo Blade. The Walleye Toledo Storm replica jerseys for both Friday and Saturday night as a throwback to the first Toledo ECHL team. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off following Saturday's game with proceeds benefitting ISOH.
