Road Warriors Win Fifth Straight

Greenville, SC: Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Michael St. Croix scored twice to help the Road Warriors defeat the Toledo Walleye 6-1 on Monday afternoon.

Andrew Rowe began the scoring seven minutes into the period on a shorthanded goal. It was the forward's 14th goal of the season. Mike Marcou was awarded the assist. Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored four minutes later off a rebound shot from Kyle Jean for his 18th goal of the year. With four minutes left in the period, Vallerand poked the puck free from goaltender Mac Carruth and scored his second goal of the game and 19th of the season. Michael St. Croix and Jordie Johnston got the assists and the Road Warriors ended the first period with a 3-0 lead.

St. Croix scored 2:45 into the second period with a slap shot for his 11th of the year. Vallerand and Ryan Hegarty picked up the assists. After the goal, Toledo switched goalies and Jared Correau entered the game. With 1:40 left in the period, St. Croix scored his second goal of the game with a wrist shot past Corrau as the scoring rout continued. Johnston registered the assist. With two seconds left in the period, Jean scored on a one-timer and the Road Warriors took a 6-0 lead. It was the forward's second goal of the season while Rowe and Josh Nicholls earned the assists.

The first half of the third period saw no goals but Toledo outshot the Road Warriors 15-8. With 3:04 left in the game, Toledo scored their first goal from Richard Nedomiel on his 8th of the year. Travis Novak and Bobby Shea tallied the assist. Neither team scored the remainder of the period to give the Road Warriors a 6-1 victory. Jason Missiaen stopped 40 shots for the Road Warriors to improve his record to 6-2-1.
