TODAY'S MATCHUP: With back-to-back wins under their belt, the Cyclones play their final home game of the month today against the Kalamazoo Wings at U.S. Bank Arena. The season series between these two long time division rivals has been extremely close, with the Clones owning a 5-3-1 record in 2013-14 against the Wings.

SCOUTING THE WINGS: Nick Bootland's club has surged into the North Division lead with seven wins out of their last ten games. While they have been excellent at Wings Stadium, they've been very average away from home this season - going just 11-10-0-1. They're led offensively by their veteran defenseman Sam Ftorek, who has 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) in 47 games. His numbers are tops among all ECHL rear guards. Rookie Matt Caria has also been a regular point-getter for the Wings; he ranks fifth among all first-year players with 34 tallies (17 goals, 17 assists) in 43 tilts. Forward Eric Kattelus has enjoyed great success against his former team, notching five goals and six assists in the season series. Jordan Binnington has led the way for Kalamazoo between the pipes; the St. Louis Blues third-round draft choice ranks fifth in the ECHL with a 2.33 goals-against average along with a 17-10-1 record. Veteran Joel Martin has gone 11-7-0-3 with a 2.82 GAA.

LAST HEAD-TO-HEAD MEETING: JANUARY 10, 2014: Three different Cincinnati players scored in a wild second period as the Cyclones defeated the Wings by a 5-3 final score in front of 6,255 at U.S. Bank Arena. Led by Josh Shalla's two-goal performance, the home team continued their impressive scoring rate in the second session. Goaltender Rob Madore turned aside 24 of the 27 shots he faced in the tilt and earned his tenth win of the season.

Even-Strengh Excellence: This season, the Cyclones have done their biggest damage when playing five-on-five hockey. Of their 160 goals-scored this season, 121 of them have come in this situation. In fact, including four-on-four action, the Clones have amassed 125 even-strength goals.

"Haze" of Glory: Cincinnati forward Jonathan Hazen has been among the most consistent players on the team lately. He's posted points in four straight games and seven out his last nine games. Hazen is just two points shy of his career high.
