On April 1, 2026 the Mud Hens played in their 5th away game of the season, against the Mets, where they lost, 4-2. The game gets off to a quick start, while both teams keep it a close competition.

Syracuse scores early in the bottom of the 1st. With 2 outs Nick Morabito singles, steals second, and then advances to third on a fly ball to right field. Next up, Christian Arroyo hits a double to left fielder Corey Julks. This allows Nick Morabito to score and puts the Mets up 1-0 after one complete inning.

With a pitching change in the bottom of the 5th, Tyler Mattison takes over on the bump with a runner on 1st. Ryan Clifford then singles, putting runners on 1st and 3rd. Up next, Christian Arroyo drives in an RBI (Mauricio) with a base hit to left center. After one more out the inning is over and the score sits at 2-0 (Mets).

The Mud Hens won't stay behind for long because in the top of the 6th they came out swinging. Jace Jung doubles to right field and then advances to third on a ground out from Valencia. Trei Cruz then puts runners on 1st and 3rd by drawing a walk. The Hens are able to put a run on the board with a single to right field by Gage Workman, scoring Jung and advancing Cruz. Toledo isn't done there, with Tomás Nido stepping up to the plate. Nido singles to RF, and Trei Cruz gets the wave around third and avoids a play at the plate, scoring a run. After 5.5 innings the Mud Hens and Mets are all tied up at 2.

The game shifts in favor of the Mets in the bottom of the 8th. There are 2 outs with Jackson Cluff on second. Ben Rotvedt hits an RBI double to right field, scoring Cluff, and increasing the Mets' lead back to one. However, they don't stop at just one. Now up, Christian Pache, hits a Texas Leaguer between the Hens' rightfielder, centerfielder, and shortstop. This base hit scores Rortvedt and puts Syracuse ahead 4-2 after 8 complete innings.

There are no more runs scored for either team in today's game. 4-2 is where the score settled for the remaining inning. This moves the Syracuse Mets into the win column and the Toledo Mud Hens are given the loss. The Mets' overall record now becomes 3-2 and the Hens' 1-4.
