Durham Bulls News Release
DURHAM, NC - The Durham Bulls today announced that Zack Wheeler, a three-time MLB All-Star and one of baseball's premier pitchers, is scheduled to take the mound on Friday, April 3rd at Durham Bulls Athletic Park as part of his rehab assignment with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Wheeler underwent thoracic outlet decompression surgery in September 2025 and has not appeared in a Major League game since August 15th, missing the Phillies postseason. He began his rehab assignment on March 28 with Lehigh Valley, tossing three scoreless innings in his first outing.
Widely regarded as one of the game's most dominant pitchers, Wheeler is known for his power arsenal, elite command, and ability to shut down opposing lineups. His start at the DBAP provides a rare opportunity for fans to see one of baseball's top arms in an intimate setting.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 PM, with gates opening at 5:30 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and secure their seats ahead of what is expected to be a highly attended game. Tickets are available now at durhambulls.com, calling 919-956-BULL or by visiting the DBAP box office.
