Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Great Lakes Loons (61-37) (16-17) were shutout for the sixth time this season losing 10-0 to the Fort Wayne TinCaps (51-48) (19-14) on a 83-degree Thursday night at Parkview Field.

Maddux Bruns struck out seven TinCaps but was responsible for half of Fort Wayne's runs. Graham Pauley smacked a two-run home run with two outs in the first. He has 11 in 31 games, the most of any player in the Midwest League since his debut on June 29th.

The Dodgers No. 13 prospect retired 10 of the next 12, striking out six. Bruns entered the fifth inning but only recorded one out. The TinCaps scored six runs off five hits.

After a leadoff double, Kervin Pichardo belted a ball 395 feet to deep left-center field, to bring the score to 4-0. After a walk and hit by pitch, Franklin De La Paz entered. Fort Wayne rallied off three straight hits, a Carlos Luis two-run double made it 8-0.

Edwuin Bencomo made his 12th appearance, just his second start as a TinCap. The right-hander finished five innings, his season-high, adding four strikeouts.

Great Lakes totaled five hits, two from Taylor Young and two from Yeiner Fernandez. Young now has a 25-game on-base streak, the longest active streak in the Midwest League. Fernandez has five hits in the first three games of the series.

The Loons had two season debuts, 19-year-old Luis Guerra entered as a pinch-hitter in the eighth. Sauryn Lao played in 18 games as a position player with Great Lakes in 2022. Tonight he pitched for the first time as a Loon. The right-hander went 1.2 innings permitting two runs.

The fourth game of the series is tomorrow Friday, August 4th. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Hyun-il Choi takes the mound for Great Lakes.
