Dayton, Ohio - The Beloit Sky Carp connected on three home runs on the way to a 9-5 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday night. The Dayton loss snapped their four-game winning streak, only the second loss in the last 12 games for the Dragons.

The Dragons fell back into a first-place tie with a Fort Wayne in the Midwest League's East Division. Both teams are 19-14 in the second half.

A crowd of 7,631 was in attendance at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District.

Beloit scored two runs in the third inning and added two more in the fourth to jump out to a 4-0 lead. The Dragons cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run double to center field with two outs by Tyler Callihan to make it 4-2. But Beloit responded immediately, scoring four runs in the top of the fifth, keyed by a two-out, three-run home run by Josh Zamora, to make it 8-2. The Dragons still trailed by six runs, at 9-3, going to the bottom of the ninth inning when they took advantage of three walks and an error to plate two runs and close out the scoring.

The Dragons finished the night with seven hits. Tyler Callihan and Austin Hendrick each had two.

Dragons starting pitcher Hunter Parks (2-5) was charged with the loss. He was strong over the first two innings, retiring the first six batters including three on strikeouts before laboring through a long third inning in which he allowed two runs.

The Dayton bullpen, which had combined for seven scoreless innings over the first two games of the series Tuesday and Wednesday, endured a tough night. Beloit scored seven runs against Dayton relievers in six innings, though Dayton's Braxton Roxby pitched well, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out four while allowing only one base runner.
