FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps bounced back from a tough loss on Sunday to drill the Lake County Captains, 10-1, Monday at Classic Park. RHP Matt Jackson delivered six effective innings to grab the win and save an overworked bullpen.

Fort Wayne hitters drew nine walks and took advantage of four Lake County errors.

In the second, Lake County scored its only run, an unearned tally, when Ronny Rodriguez hit a chopper to short that was mishandled. It allowed Jordan Casas to score from second and give the Captains their only lead of the game.

Fort Wayne tied the game in the top of the third when Rymer Liriano roped an RBI single to right; Chris Bisson was thrown out by Carlos Moncrief at the plate to keep it tied. An inning later, B.J. Guinn laced a two-out RBI single to left to make it 2-1.

In the fifth, the speed of Liriano led to a run. He drew a walk, stole second and went to third when the throw went wild. He later scored on a wild pitch to push the lead to 3-1.

The TinCaps exploded in the seventh, taking advantage of five walks. Tyler Stubblefield drew a bases-loaded walk. A double-play ball brought home another run to make it 5-1. After another walk, Wes Cunningham stroked an RBI single to right. Two batters later, Guinn doubled to leftcenter, chasing home two more runs to balloon the lead to 8-1.

Jackson (4-1) allowed three hits, allowed an unearned run, walked four but struck out five to pick up the victory. RHPs Stiven Osuna and Chris Franklin combined to work three scoreless frames in relief. Lake County RHP Mike Goodnight (5-6) lost his third straight start, failing to get through the fifth inning.

The TinCaps improved to 1-3 in the second half, 31-42 on the season; Lake County dipped to 3-1 in the half, 31-42 for the year.

The TinCaps and Captains (Class-A Cleveland Indians) continue the three-game series at Classic Park Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Lake County RHP Cole Cook (2-8) gets the start.
