BG SERIES SUMMARY: In Game 1 of a doubleheader on Thursday, the TinCaps scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, including a 3-run homer from Jack Suwinski. Fort Wayne was able to maintain the lead, winning the 7-inning game, 5-3. Game 2 was tied at 1-1 after 3 when it was suspended due to rain. They'll finish the suspended game at Bowling Green on June 13... The teams were rained out Wednesday... On Tuesday, Fort Wayne held leads of 2-0, 4-2, and 5-4, but Bowling Green scored 3 runs in the top of the 9th to pull out a 7-5 victory.

ALUMNI NEWS: Former TinCaps starting pitcher Walker Lockett is scheduled to make his MLB debut tonight for the Padres as their starter at Petco Park against the Reds. The now-24-year-old made 1 start for the 'Caps in 2014, 4 in 2015, and then 8 in 2016. He will become the 164th former Fort Wayne Wizard/TinCap to reach The Show. Earlier this week, Dustin Peterson, who was with Fort Wayne throughout 2014, joined that club with the Braves... On Thursday night in Tulsa, San Diego's Double-A affiliate, the San Antonio Missions, threw a no-hitter. 2016-17 Fort Wayne lefty Logan Allen started and went 7. 2014 TinCap Jason Jester finished the job... ROSTER MOVES: Friday, the Padres transferred first baseman Carlos Belen to extended spring training. First baseman Nick Feight has been added to Fort Wayne's roster from Extended Spring Training. Thursday, the Padres released right-handed reliever Jared Carkuff. Righty reliever Diomar Lopez has been added to Fort Wayne's roster from High-A Lake Elsinore. Lopez, a 21-year-old from Nicaragua, spent part of last season with the TinCaps. On Wednesday, the Padres released TinCaps right-handed reliever Will Stillman. Righty Korey Anderson has been added to Fort Wayne's roster from Extended Spring Training.

TOM TERRIFIC: Friday night, the TinCaps give the ball to Tom Cosgrove who should feel comfortable in Midland, Michigan. Cosgrove faced Great Lakes on the road earlier this season on April 26, putting together possibly his best outing of the year. The Staten Island native went 6 innings, scattering 5 hits and not allowing a run while striking out 6. The outing was the only appearance this season that Cosgrove has not allowed a run. During Cosgrove's last 4 starts on the mound, he holds a 1.59 ERA. Last Saturday at Lansing, Cosgrove went a professional career-long 7 innings.

LEFTY LOPEZ: Switch hitter Justin Lopez hit his 3rd home run of the season in Game 1 on Thursday night. All 3 home runs this season from Lopez have come batting left-handed. Batting left-handed this season, Lopez is batting .256 in 129 AB with 6 doubles, 2 triples, & 3 home runs. Batting right-handed, Lopez is hitting .111 in 18 AB with 1 double.

MILLER TIME: TinCaps reliever Evan Miller once again did not allow a run on Thursday night vs. Bowling Green. On Thursday, Miller pitched in front of his former college coach Bobby Pierce, who was serving as the color analyst for the television broadcast alongside John Nolan. The LaPorte, Ind., native who went to IPFW has posted a 0.42 ERA across 12 outings this year (22.2 IP). Miller has now posted 6 consecutive scoreless appearances dating back to May 11 when he allowed an unearned run at Kane County. The only time Miller gave up an earned run this season was May 9 @ Quad Cities.

SPEED DEMON: Esteury Ruiz has stolen 5 bases in the last 3 games played. He now leads the team with 16 stolen bags on the year.

TWICE AS NICE: After going 45 games without a shutout, Fort Wayne has posted 2 shutouts over its last 7 games. The TinCaps blanked West Michigan, 3-0, last Thursday, and did the same at Lansing on Monday.

BULLPEN SUCCESS: Since reliever Evan Miller was added to the 'pen on April 23, the TinCaps relief corps has posted a 3.37 ERA over 33 games. Along with Miller, the bullpen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Jordan Guerrero, and Ben Sheckler, with a few changes along the way. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had a 7.47 ERA.

FEELING EXTRA: The TinCaps have 28 extra-base hits over their last 7 games. Fort Wayne matched a season high with 7 extra-base hits last Thursday @ West Michigan and again last Saturday night @ Lansing. (The team also tallied 7 XBHs on April 13 @ Bowling Green.) Over the last 7 games, the 'Caps have hit 6 triples, 19 doubles, and 3 home runs.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 7th in OBP (.404), 8th in walks (34), tied for 6th in runs (34)... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 4th in SB (16), tied for 12th in triples (3)
