Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lansing Lugnuts (affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in the first game of a three-game series. Season Series to Date: Lansing 8, Dayton 0.

Last Games: Thursday: West Michigan 10, Dayton 1 (suspended game). Dayton 8, West Michigan 3 (second game; 7 innings). After losing the suspended game in a route, the Dragons came back to enjoy one of their best offensive games of the season in the second game, collecting seven extra base hits and eight runs in six offensive innings. Miles Gordon and Michael Beltre had back-to-back home runs in the first inning. Stuart Fairchild had a double and triple and Hendrik Clementina had two doubles and three runs scored. J.D. Williams, in his first game with the team, had a hit and two RBI.

The Dragons have been the streakiest team in professional baseball in 2018. They started the year with a three-game losing streak, won the next nine games, lost the next eight, won nine of 10, lost the next eight, won seven of eight, lost the next three, and have won two of the last three.

The Dragons team ERA in their 27 wins is 3.25 (241 IP, 87 ER). The ERA in the 25 losses is 7.31 (208 IP, 169 ER).

He is tied for second in the MWL in home runs with nine and ranks in the top 10 in RBI with 32 despite not having enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting lead. With his current averages, he would lead the league in slugging percentage and rank fourth in batting average if he qualified.

Stuart Fairchild is batting .338 over his last 19 games to raise his average from .277 to .300. His 11-game hitting streak ended Tuesday night.

Jose Garcia is batting .341 over his last 14 games to raise his average from .150 to .196.

John Ghyzel ranks first in the MWL lead in saves with 10. In 19 appearances, he has a 1.42 ERA.

Cory Thompson has allowed earned runs in just two of his 19 relief appearances, posting a 1.38 ERA.
