
Timbers Set to Travel to Costa Rica, Tucson for 2019 Preseason Presented by Old Trapper

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced their preseason schedule, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky, for the 2019 MLS campaign, with the Timbers set to make trips to San José, Costa Rica, and Tucson, Ariz., for preseason training, playing six matches during that span.
Beginning preseason training on Tuesday, Jan. 22, the Timbers will train in Portland through Jan. 30, when they depart for Costa Rica to begin an 11-day training camp at Complejo Deportivo Fedefutbol Plycem, home of the Costa Rica Football Federation. While in Costa Rica, the Timbers will face Deportivo Saprissa on Monday, Feb. 4, and C.S. Herediano on Thursday, Feb. 7. Following the conclusion of training in Costa Rica, the Timbers will depart for Tucson to participate in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup and continue training from Feb. 11-23.
As part of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup, the Timbers will face Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday, Feb. 13, before taking on the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, Feb. 16, USL side Phoenix Rising FC on Wednesday, Feb. 20, and Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Kino Sports Complex.

The Timbers will return to Portland on Sunday, Feb. 24, to begin their final preparations for the 2019 MLS campaign, which begins on March 2 with a road match against the Colorado Rapids.
