FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution have announced changes to the club's technical staff ahead of the 2019 Major League Soccer season, hiring Head Fitness Coach Gabriel MartÃnez Poch and International Scout Sergio Neveleff. In addition, the club has added Dr. Adam Miller as team chiropractor and promoted Matthew Kirkpatrick to assistant athletic trainer.
Poch, 53, brings nearly 20 years of experience to the Revolution as a sports science specialist with stints at several top clubs around the world. A native of La Plata, Argentina, Poch has worked extensively for clubs across South America, Europe, and Asia. Most recently, he helped guide Argentine side Aldosivi de Mar del Plata to promotion into the Argentina SuperLiga as a methodologist and technical assistant in 2018. Poch earned his UEFA Level 3 'B' License in Barcelona in 2015.
In addition to his time with Aldosivi, Poch's prior experience is highlighted by stints with 18 different clubs in Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Spain, Romania, the United States, Kuwait, and Qatar. Poch has helped clubs to a number of major accomplishments, including a Bolivian Primera Divisón title with Wilstermann in 2006, and an Ecuadorian Serie A championship with Deportivo Quito in 2009. He also helped guide several clubs to promotion in their respective leagues.
Neveleff joins the Revolution as an international scout with two decades of experience in talent evaluation, primarily in South America. He has worked extensively in Argentina's SuperLiga, including stints as the Director of International Development with Estudiantes de La Plata (2003-08) and as a founding member of the International Youth Scouting and Development Program at Racing Club de Avellaneda (2013-14). Since 2014, Neveleff has been working as an independent scout representing multiple clubs across the world. He has also held executive positions with Bolivian outfit C.D. Jorge Wilstermann, and worked with the United States Soccer Federation on a variety of endeavors since 2008.
The club has also promoted Revolution Academy Athletic Trainer Matthew Kirkpatrick to assistant athletic trainer with the first team. Since January 2017, Kirkpatrick has provided the Revolution Academy teams with preparation and physical care, and he will now assume those duties for the first team. Kirkpatrick holds a B.A. in physical training from Neumann University.
Dr. Adam Z. Miller, D.C. will become the club's head chiropractor, replacing Dr. Michael Weinman. Based in Norwood, Mass., Dr. Miller owns previous experience as an elite chiropractor with clients including NFL football players, Olympic medal winners, U.S. Skating champions, professional boxers, and weightlifters.
