
Revolution to Compete in Inaugural Orlando City Invitational Preseason Tournament

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will join three other Major League Soccer clubs in the inaugural Orlando City Invitational preseason tournament in Orlando, Fla. this February. Following two weeks of training and exhibition matches in Marbella, Spain, the Revolution will travel to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. on Feb. 12 before visiting Orlando City Stadium for meetings with Minnesota United FC (Feb. 16 at 4:30 p.m. ET) and Orlando City SC (Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET).
The four-match invitational, which also includes New York City FC, will be held across two days with double-header matches on Feb. 16 and Feb. 20. Tickets are available here for $15. The team with the most points after both matches will be awarded a trophy. Clubs will receive three points for a win, one point for a draw, zero points for a loss, and two points for a penalty kick win. Tiebreakers will be determined by goals against, goals for, yellow card accumulation, red card accumulation, and fouls committed.
Participating teams will be allowed unlimited substitutions in each match, though players who have exited the contest will not be allowed to re-enter. Players who receive two yellow cards or a red card will not be suspended for the following match.
The Revolution officially begin the 2019 preseason on Monday, Jan. 21 when the club convenes in Foxborough. The Revolution will then depart for two weeks of training at Marbella Football Center in Marbella, Spain from Jan. 25 - Feb. 8. The club will then travel to IMG Academy from Feb. 12-24, playing two matches in Bradenton in addition to the two Orlando City Invitational contests.

The Revolution will open the 24th Major League Soccer season on Saturday, March 2 against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium. The club will then return to Gillette Stadium on March 9 for the home opener against Columbus Crew SC.
