Orlando City SC News Release
Orlando City SC will open its fifth preseason in Major League Soccer (MLS) with the inaugural Orlando City Invitational that will see the Lions host New York City FC, New England Revolution and Minnesota United at Orlando City Stadium in February 2019.
Season ticket members may attend Invitational matches by making an in-kind donation to the Orlando City Foundation. Non-season ticket members may purchase tickets for $15. For more information on how to secure tickets, click here.
"The Invitational is a fantastic new tradition we hope to start here in Orlando. For us, it's a great opportunity to get returning and new players back into the fold gaining valuable minutes against league teams. And for our fans, we invite them to come be part of the process and see their team come together ahead of a new year," said Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi.
The four-match invitational will be held across two days with double-header matches. The winning team with the most points will be awarded a trophy.
Additionally, all clubs across the league will report to training camp on Monday, Jan. 21, as the 24th MLS season approaches. City will kickoff its camp with a 14-day stay at the training facilities of IMG Academy in Bradenton, before returning to Orlando ahead of a series of closed-door matches and the Orlando City Invitational.
The Lions officially kick off the MLS campaign on Saturday, March 2, against NYCFC at home for the fifth-consecutive season.
