
Tigers Send Flowers to Whitecaps, Sabino Placed on Disabled List

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The Detroit Tigers announced Wednesday that the West Michigan Whitecaps will receive Bo Flowers from Oneonta and place Luis Sabino on the disabled list to keep their roster at the Midwest League maximum of 25 players.
Flowers was a fifth round draft pick by Detroit in the 2002 draft. He was named the best athlete in the Tigers organization following the 2003 season by Baseball America.
The 20-year-old from Maywood, Ill. has played in 65 games with Oneonta this season with a .280 batting average including four home runs and 26 RBIs. Flowers had a 20-game hitting streak in June and July before hitting .340 in 94 August at-bats.
Sabino played in 103 games for West Michigan this season with a .234 average including 22 doubles and nine home runs.
