Beloit Snaps Losing Streak at Four

Beloit snapped a five game losing streak to Burlington and a four game losing streak overall tonight with a 5-4 extra inning win as Beloit won game three of this four game series. The Snappers fell behind 2-0 after Burlington scored twice in the top of the sixth. The Bees would add another run in the top of the seventh to lead 3-0. Beloit cut it to 3-1 after scoring one in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the ninth Burlington would add an insurance run as they took a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth. The three run rally in the ninth started after a Grant Richardson walk and an Adam Heether double. With two men in scoring position Terry Trofholz singled in a run to make it 4-2. With Heether at third Robby Deevers sacrificed Trofholz to second. Guilder Rodriguez would then hit into a sac-fly to score Heether and advance Trofholz to third making the score 4-3. Hernan Irabarren hit a game tying single as Beloit tied it 4-4. The Snappers would hold Burlington scoreless in the top of the tenth. Vinny Rottino led off the bottom of the tenth with a double. He would eventually advance to third on a wild pitch. With two outs Adam Heether singled in Rottino as Beloit won 5-4. Ben Stanczyk (1-0) got the win going two innings allowing one run one three hits.

Game four of this series is Thursday at 7:00 at Pohlman Field.
