
Dayton Pitching Staff Gets New Guy

Dayton, OH â RHP Phillip Ellison has been promoted from the Gulf Coast League Reds and added to the Dayton Dragons roster for the final six games of the 2004 season. Ellison was signed by the Reds out of a tryout camp following a stint in the Southeastern League with the Selma Cloverleafs. In 2003 with the Cloverleafs, Ellison went 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA in 15.0 innings of baseball covering three appearances.
Ellison began his 2004 season in extended spring training before beginning the season with the GCL Reds. In 12 games with the Reds, the right hander went 1-2 with a 2.63 ERA, allowing 14 hits in 13.2 innings pitched. With the addition of Ellison to the roster, the Dragons have 24 active players, one below the maximum limit of 25.
