Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Lethbridge, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers didn't have enough Tuesday night as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Lethbridge Hurricanes at Enmax Centre.
Lethbridge got off on the right foot thanks to Joe Arntsen's power play goal at 7:15 despite some brilliant save from Tigers starting netminder Beckett Langkow (Vegreville, AB) leading up to the opportunity for the Hurricanes. Lethbridge would keep coming just over two minutes later as Logan Wormald would eventually jam a scramble in front of the Tigers net to make 2-0 Hurricanes at 9:32.
But the Tigers would battle back as Brenden Lee (Seattle, WA) scored his 19th of the season off the rush on a partial 2 on 1 beating Hurricanes goaltender Harrison Meneghin on a backhand shot at 13:58.
In the second period Logan Wormald would score his second of the night on another Lethbridge power play at 15:09 to give the home side a two goal advantage heading into the 3rd.
Despite some pushback and outshooting their opponents, the Tigers couldn't find a goal until it was too late as Owen MacNeil (Calgary, AB) would score on a short handed breakaway with just 2.2 seconds left in regulation for an eventual 3-2 Tiger loss to the Hurricanes.
Starter Beckett Langkow would make 15 saves in the loss, while special teams hurt the Tigers on this night going 0/6 on the power play and 4/6 on the penalty kill.
Medicine Hat has the chance to turn things around quickly Wednesday night at home as they'll welcome the Swift Current Broncos for the first time this season to Co-op Place. Get your tickets now at tixx.ca, puck-drop is set for 7 PM.
