Tri-City Americans News Release
The Americans will head to Portland today to take on the Winterhawks.
The two teams will meet tonight for the third time in their eight-game season series. Tri-City won their most recent meeting 7-3 on October 22 in Kennewick.
Tyson Greenway leads head-to-head scoring with three goals and two assists, all on October 22 as he recorded his first WHL hat trick. For Portland, Gabe Klassen has two goals against Tri-City.
Portland comes into tonight's game on a 6-0-1-0 streak while the Americans put themselves back in the win column last night.
Tri-City has struggled to find victory on the road. Their last away victory was November 4th when they earned an overtime victory over the Wheat Kings in Brandon. The Ams have six straight road losses since then, despite winning 8 of 10 home games over that period.
Ams netminder Tomas Suchanek and forward Adam Mechura are currently at World Juniors competing with Czechia. Portland's Marek Alscher is also on their team.
Record: Tri-City 15-15-0-1 | Portland 23-4-2-1
Special Teams
Power Play: Tri-City (35/128) 27.3% | Portland (35/123) 28.5%
Penalty Kill: Tri-City (36/124) 71.0% | Portland (21/124) 83.1%
