
Rysavy & Czechia Improve to 2-0; Baco & Slovakia Drop Opener

Martin Rysavy and Team Czechia followed up their big win over Canada to open the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship with a dominating performance on Tuesday.
Czechia rolled to a 9-0 win over Austria to improve to 2-0 at the tournament in Halifax, NS.
Rysavy didn't get a point in the win, finishing with an even rating in 14:32 of ice time.
Czechia returns to the ice on Wednesday for a big matchup with Sweden before finishing the round robin on New Year's Eve against Germany.
In Moncton, NB, Robert Baco and Team Slovakia lost their tournament opener, 5-2, to Finland.
Baco was minus-one in 5:56 of ice time for Slovakia as they kicked off their World Juniors.
Slovakia will be back on the ice on Wednesday to take on Team USA at 3 p.m. CST. Baco and Slovakia also go up against Latvia on Friday and finish the round robin against Switzerland on New Year's Eve.
