
Hitmen Extend Win Streak With Win Over Oil Kings

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen returned to action tonight following a nine-day holiday break to host the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Calgary is now 3-0 on the season against Edmonton with an 8-2 victory over the visitors. It was another high scoring game for Calgary, seeing two goal performances from both David Adaszsynki and Sean Tschigerl.
Adaszynski opened up the scoring in the first with his seventh of the season. Edmonton would then tie it up with goal from Carter Kowalyk. Adaszynski would regain the lead for Calgary with his second of the night followed up by Tschigerl and Ethan Moore to give Calgary a three-goal lead heading into the second period.
The flood gates opened in the second, seeing goals from Tschigerl once again, Oliver Tulk, Zac Funk and Riley Fiddler-Schultz giving Calgary a seven-goal lead. Nathan Pilling would net one more for Edmonton in the third to making the final score 8-2.
David Adaszysnki earned first star with a career high performance of four points. With Sean Tschigerl's first goal in the contest, the fourth year forward reached the milestone of 50 career goals.
Calgary extends their winning streak to four games, improving to 18-9-3-1 on the season. They now heads to Red Deer to open a home-and-home set with the Rebels tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 29. The rematch is on New Year's Day, for a 1:00 p.m. start at the 'Dome.
