
Tides Roll Early, Beat PawSox 12-2

(Norfolk, VA) The Norfolk Tides scored in each of the first five innings and beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 12-2, Tuesday night at Harbor Park. The PawSox trailed by nine after three innings and lost a third straight.
The PawSox (41-56) had just five hits and received a two-run homer by Humberto Quintero in the ninth inning. Norfolk (54-41) has won the first 2 games of the series and received a high from eight of nine starters.
Mike Wright (7-0) scattered three hits over 6.1 innings pitched to earn the win. Keith Couch (4-9) suffered the loss, allowing career-high nine runs on 10 hits over three innings.
Norfolk built a 7-0 after two innings; they sent nine batters to the plate in the first and scoring three runs. In the second, Sean Halton capped off the frame with a two-out, three-run homer to left. Henry Urrutia blasted a two-run homer in the third, his sixth of the season.
Dayan Diaz replaced Couch in the fourth inning and worked three innings, yielding three unearned runs on three hits.
Garin Cecchini went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and a run scored. Mike Miller finished 1-for-3 with a walk and Jackie Bradley Jr. singled in the sixth.
Jonathan Aro pitched a scoreless seventh and position player Jeff Bianchi worked a perfect ninth - Pawtucket's only perfect inning.
Pawtucket and Norfolk play game three of their series on Wednesday night at Harbor Park. RHP Joe Kelly (1-1, 2.84) makes his fifth start of the season for the PawSox. Knuckleballer Eddie Gamboa (7-6, 3.48) takes the mound for the Tides. Pregame coverage begins on WHJJ and online at 6:50.
