The Mallards killed off the power play and then pulled away with two man advantage goals of their own.
DMEN SCORING - Two of the three goals scored over the weekend came from the blue line. Donnie Harris recorded his first in a Thunder uniform on Sunday afternoon in a losing effort at Quad City. Three of the Thunder's 10 goals scored so far this season have come from defensemen, with Brandon Martell scoring the other.
LOWE BALL - Ian Lowe found the back of the net for the first time this season on Saturday. The Thunder captain had 20 goals a year ago and finished with 58 points. He is currently tied with Todd Hosmer for the team-lead in points with three.
FIRST GOAL - Teams in the ECHL have had success in the early going scoring the first goal of the game. Wichita has scored the first goal three times and is 2-1-0-0 when they grab the lead. All four of the Thunder's points have come when the team lights the lamp before its opponent.
ICEMEN CONNECTION - The Thunder activated forward Peter Sakaris to the line-up this past weekend. Joining Donnie Harris and Brandon Martell, brings an Evansville IceMen connection to the Thunder line-up. Peter Sakaris added his first point in a Thunder uniform and created chances on Sunday afternoon.
