Youngstown Phantoms News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Youngstown Phantoms fell to the Bloomington Thunder by a final score of 4-0 Friday night at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Youngstown was unable to solve Bloomington netminder Hayden Lavigne, who turned aside all 26 Phantoms shot attempts.

Thunder Captain Jake Slaker got his team on the board in the final minutes of the first frame, putting one past Colin DeAugustine for a power play tally. It was Slaker's 16th goal of the season.

Bloomington would double its lead just over a minute into the second period, behind Logan Lambdin's 24th tally of the year.

Youngstown had its chances to get back into the contest, but Lavigne made several key saves to keep the Phantoms off the board.

Slaker would add his second goal of the evening early on in the final period, beating DeAugustine on a breakaway. Vlad Dzhioshvili would extend the Thunder advantage to four goals just minutes later with his fifth tally of the campaign.

The Phantoms are now nine points out of a playoff spot with nine games left on the season.

Youngstown will head to Wisconsin to take on the Madison Capitols Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. eastern time.
