Stars Set for Cross-Conference Clash

Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (30-20-1) are set to meet the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (34-12-3) on Friday night in the Ice Box. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

The Stars are first in the Western Conference with 61 points, winning three of their last five games and going 7-3-0 in their last 10 games.

Tanner Laczynski leads the team with 54 points, while Ludvig Hoff (51) and Grant Jozefek (47) are also among the league's top scorers. Peyton Jones has a team-leading 2.27 GAA and .926 save percentage.

Cedar Rapids is atop the USHL with 71 points, searching for their seventh consecutive win. Ross Colton leads the RoughRiders with 54 points while goalie Ben Blacker has a 2.20 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

The Stars lost their previous meeting with the RoughRiders, 7-4, on Sept. 26 in Cedar Rapids. Friday's meeting will mark the final game between the teams this season.

 Scouting Cedar Rapids - The RoughRiders have a league-leading 71 points and are on a six-game winning streak. Ross Colton leads the team with 54 points while goalie Ben Blacker has the third-best save percentage (.927) and GAA (2.20) in the league.

Stars vs. RoughRiders - The RoughRiders won the previous meeting between the teams, 7-4, in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 26. Friday will mark the second and final meeting of the season between the teams.

Score-ch The League - Tanner Laczynski (54 points), Ludvig Hoff (51) and Grant Jozefek (47) are among the top 10 scorers in the USHL.

Rock the Box - The Stars have sold out three of their last five home games with packed crowds on Jan. 30, Feb. 19 and March 5. The team has the third-best in attendance in the USHL.

Top Prospects - Ludvig Hoff, Grant Jozefek, Christian Evers, Peyton Jones, Collin Peters and Tanner Laczynski participated in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Omaha, Nebraska on Jan. 12. Chris Hartsburg coached Team West and Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager Corey Courtney joined the support staff.

20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.

Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
