Tri-City Storm News Release

Kearney, Ne. - The Tri-City Storm scored two goals in the middle period to tie, but Team USA's Chad Krys scored with 22.5 seconds left in overtime to win it, 4-3, Friday at the Viaero Center.

Krys shot the puck from the left point over Jake Kielly's glove to the right post, ending the game in three-on-three. Kielly's 16 saves helped him earn another point. The Clarkson commit has points in 17 straight appearances (12-0-4-1), the longest streak in the league.

Dan Labosky, Collin Rutherford and Alex Limoges scored for Tri-City, engineering a hard-fought effort that ended with a shot edge, 34-20. The Storm allowed just one goal, the overtime winner, after yielding a goal to Kieffer Bellows four minutes into the second.

The Storm picked up points in its 10th straight game, tied for the longest streak in the USHL. Tri-City is in second place with 62 points, one behind the Lincoln Stars for Western Conference supremacy.

After Team USA scored two goals early in the second from Joey Anderson and Kieffer Bellows, the Storm's offense turned the ignition to erase the two-goal lead and tie the contest at three.

Collin Rutherford drove the right wing after getting a pass from Jack McNeely. The Dartmouth commit slung a shot to the left pocket of the net at 9:28 of the middle frame. Andrew Peski got the secondary helper, finishing with two assists on his 19th birthday.

With time waning in the second and the Storm down one, Joey Matthews pinched a pass from the point that nicked off Brandon Duhaime's stick. Alex Limoges found the biscuit and backhanded it from the net mouth through the five hole of Jake Oettinger. Limoges has 12 goals and 30 points this season. Over his last eight games, the rookie has five goals and 12 points.

The Storm attempted eight shots in the third and five in overtime, but Oettinger took the win making 31 stops. The U-18s combined for seven shots in the third period and the extra session.

The game took on a frenetic pace in the opening minutes, with each club netting a goal. First, the Storm's Labosky tucked a net-front rebound under Oettinger to open the scoring at 1:06 of the first, with assists to Peski and Limoges.

Labosky has ten goals and 32 points, tied for his best single-season output in both categories.

At 2:39 of the first on Team USA's first shot, Griffin Luce wristed a seeing-eye waffler through Jake Kielly from the left point to tie the game. Patrick Khodorenko took the helper.
