Three Burlington Bees Pitchers Named to Midwest League All-Star Team

Burlington, Iowa - The Midwest Baseball League has named Burlington Bees pitchers Jose Soriano, Robinson Pina and Cristopher Molina to the mid-season all-star team.

Molina, 21, from the Dominican Republic, has a 3-2 won lost record. He leads the league in earned run average at 1.49, is second in average against at .181 and has struck out 58 opponents, good for a tie for eighth.

In his third professional season, Molina has played at four different levels of baseball. This is his first with Burlington.

Soriano, 20, is also a Dominican Native. He has been the workhorse for Burlington in 2019. He has started 10 games and made 11 appearances. While his record is 4-5, he is in the league top ten in four categories. His ERA is ninth at 2.68. He is fourth in strikeouts with 61, seventh in average against.

After signing with the Angels organization as a 16-year-old, Soriano has earned his way up the organizational ladder. He is now in his second year in Burlington.

Pina boast a 4-2 record. He is fifth in the league in average against at .193. His winning percentage is tenth. Pina is also a Dominican native. He is 20 years old as well. Now in his third of professional season of ball, it is his first with the Bees.

The Midwest League All-Star activities are being hosted by the South Bend Cubs. Festivities begin on Sunday, June 16. The game will be June 18 in South Bend.
