(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye and head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that goaltender Thomas McCollum has been recalled the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League. Thomas becomes the first former Walleye player to dress in a NHL game.

McCollum was 3-1-0-0 in five starts with Toledo this year including a 2.55 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. Thomas has a 5-10-2 record in the American Hockey League with Grand Rapids. He will back up one-time Toledo Storm goaltender Joey MacDonald tonight against Columbus.
