West Valley City, Utah - The Stockton Thunder (17-11-2-4) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (22-13-3-1) 4-1 Saturday night at Maverik Center.

Stockton never trailed in the game that saw all five starters sent to the penalty box after Brian Kilburg grabbed Garet Hunt right off of the opening face-off and the melee was on. The game featured 149 total penalty minutes, season-highs for both teams.

The Thunder took a 1-0 lead 5:27 into the contest off of a Utah turnover. The Grizzlies tied things at one as Giffen Nyren held in a clearing attempt and Dave Schulz fed Brett Parnham for his 10th goal of the year. Stockton took a 2-1 lead 48 seconds later in the final minute of the frame.

Stockton added a shorthanded goal 12:45 into the second period as Utah looked to tie and then made it 4-1 with three seconds left in the second period following a power-play.

The third period featured more fights and surliness but not scoring as Hugo Carpentier dropped the gloves twice in the frame for Utah.

Utah completes their home stand by hosting Stockton Monday at 7:05 p.m.
