Wranglers Fall to Reign, 2-1

Las Vegas, Nev-The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Ontario Reign Friday night in front of 4,023 at the Orleans Arena. Greg Collins netted the lone goal for the Wranglers, a short-handed bid, the first at home for the Wranglers this season. Shawn Collymore and Dusty Collins both tallied for Ontario in the win and former Wrangler Alex Bourret had two assists as well. Goaltender Beau Erickson improves his record to 2-5 on the season as Joe Fallon falls to 9-7-1. Ontario was able to notch one power play goal on their four opportunities and Las Vegas went 0 for 5 on their chances. With the win Ontario improves their record to 12-22-1 and continues on a two-game win streak. The loss knocks Vegas down to 20-10-3 on the season as they fall to 3-1-2 against the Reign. Las Vegas still holds down the first place spot in the Pacific division with 43 total points.

No goals were scored in the first or third period as all the scoring came in the middle frame. After one period Las Vegas had tallied one more shot then the Reign with 12.

Shawn Collymore opened the scoring at 7:49 of the second period with his eighth goal of the season assisted by Alex Bourret and Jordan Morrison. Las Vegas tied the game at 13:00 of the second period with their first home short-handed goal coming off the tape of Greg Collins assisted by Chris Higgins. Ontario took the lead thirty-seven seconds later with a nice move from Dusty Collins assists going to Alex Bourret and Shawn Germain. The goal at 13:37 of the second period was enough to lift Ontario to their first regulation win over the Wranglers this season.

The Wranglers look to bounce-back tomorrow night as they host the Alaska Aces for a three-game set.
