Miller Recalled to AHL Chicago; McKenzie Re-Assigned

Forward Ian McKenzie has been reassigned to the Gladiators from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League by the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League. In addition, forward Tim Miller has been called up to the Chicago Wolves.

McKenzie returns to the Gladiators after recording five penalty minutes with the Chicago Wolves in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Houston Aeros last night at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. McKenzie is scoreless in two AHL games this season with the Wolves. McKenzie has earned eight points (two goals, six assists) in 32 games this season with the Gladiators. He had points in back-to-back games for the Gladiators on November 13th at Cincinnati and November 19th at South Carolina.

Miller makes his first appearance in the American Hockey League this season with the Wolves. He has recorded 31 points (18 goals, 13 assists) in 41 games this season with the Gladiators. He had an ECHL career best five points (one goal, four assists) in the Gladiators 8-6 win over Greenville last night.

Miller split time last season between Gwinnett and AHL Syracuse. He earned two points (one goal, one assist) in 21 games last year in the AHL. He tallied 35 points (15 goals, 20 assists) with the Gladiators in 44 games. After he completed his senior season at the University of Michigan, he had one goal in one game with Syracuse in the 2008-09 season.

In four years at the University of Michigan, the Davisburg, Michigan, native earned 77 points (25 goals, 52 assists) in 166 career collegiate games for the Wolverines.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
