Wichita Thunder News Release
Allen, TX - Allen broke open a one-goal game, scoring four times in the third and skated away with a 6-1 win over Wichita on Friday night at the Allen Event Center.
Jamie Doorbosch scored the lone Thunder tally with Landon Oslanksi and Alexis Loiseau picking up assists.
Bryan Moore scored the only goal of the first period. He found a loose puck near the front of the net and put it past Chris Driedger on the power play at 10:44.
In the second, Gary Steffes added to the Americans lead with his sixth of the season at 1:21. With four minutes left in the frame, tempers flared and three separate alterations ensued. Ryan Tesink and James Melindy were tossed as were Mike Gunn and Steffes. Wichita ended up with a two-man advantage shortly after and capitalized as Doornbosch stuffed home his second of the season at 17:36 and made it 2-1.
Zach Hall started the Allen barrage at 3:18 of the third, scoring his first of the season and made it 3-1. Dyson Stevenson made it 4-1 at 10:35. Four minutes later, David Makowski added to the Allen lead with a shot from the blue line for his first of the year. Jake Marchment scored just over a minute later and made it 6-1 to close the scoring.
Doornbosch has goals in back-to-back games. Loiseau extended his point-streak to seven games with an assist, recording nine points (6g, 3a) over that span. Driedger takes the loss, stopping 39 of 45 shots. Gill earns the win, stopping 31 of 32 shots he faced.
Wichita went 1-for-8 on the power play. Allen was 3-for-8 on the man advantage.
