MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Manchester Monarchs doubled-up the Elmira Jackals, 4-2, Saturday night at SNHU Arena. With the win, the Monarchs have now won a season-long, six consecutive games.

With the win, the Monarchs (17-7-1-1) evened up the season series with the Jackals (6-14-4-4), and head on the road for three games before the Christmas break.

"I really liked the way we opened the game as we were able to set the tone early on," Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, said. "We unfortunately let up a little in the beginning of the second period, but I'm happy with the way the guys battled back. It was an entire team effort, and that's what we are looking for as a coaching staff."

The Monarchs opened the scoring when Daniel Ciampini netted his 8th goal of the season at 5:51 of the first period. Ciampini walked the puck off the right half-boards and fired a wrister over the glove of Jackals goaltender, Andy Iles, to give Manchester the early 1-0 lead.

Elmira tied things up when Justin Kea scored his 3rd goal of the season at 7:49 of the second period. After a blocked shot in the Jackals defensive zone, Kea took a fly-pass and went in all alone on Monarchs goaltender, Jonah Imoo. Kea made a quick deke at the top of the slot and sent a snapper past the blocker of Imoo to even the score at 1-1.

The Monarchs regained their lead when Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman recorded his 6th goal of the season at 12:33 of the middle frame. Kevin Morris created the scoring chance by driving the net, where he backed a Jackals defender right into Iles and LaVallee-Smotherman took advantage of the open net to give the Monarchs a 2-1 lead.

Kevin Morris added to the Manchester lead when he netted his 5th goal of the season at 17:06 of the middle frame. The tic-tac-toe scoring play started with Rihards Bukarts on the left half-wall, continued to Daniel Doremus in the slot and ended with a one-timer off the stick of Morris that beat a down-and-out Iles from below the right circle.

Alexx Privitera made it a three-goal advantage when he netted his 4th goal of the season at 19:12 of the third period. With Iles pulled, Privitera dug the puck out of the right corner in the defensive zone and sent a 200-foot clearing attempt into the Elmira net, making the score, 4-1.

The Jackals scored in the last few seconds of the game when Cole Martin netted his 1st goal of the season with less than three seconds left on the clock. Martin found the loose puck in the slot after multiple saves by Imoo to make the final score, 4-2, Monarchs.

The Monarchs are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 20 (7:05 p.m.), when they travel to Wheeling West Virginia to take on the Nailers in the first leg of a three-game road trip leading into the Christmas break.
